The march of cultural Marxism in Catholic schools

It is an ironic coincidence that I came across a Cath News report about four Catholic girls’ schools in Brisbane dumping traditional language to adopt inclusive language in religious matters directly after posting my review of INFILTRATION: THE PLOT TO DESTROY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FROM WITHIN.

The great big thicked-soled jackboots of cultural Marxism have clearly stomped their way into Catholic education.

The schools reportedly dumping traditional Church language and adopting ‘inclusive’ language are All Hallows’ School Brisbane, Loreto College Coorparoo, St Rita’s College Clayfield and Stuartholme School Toowong. These are the smartest Catholic schools that parents can send their daughters to. The privilege would cost them buckets of money.

It is the usual embarrassing nonsense. The prescription of ‘gender-neutral language’ means the girls are not to use masculine nouns or pronouns when referring to God. A spokeswoman at Stuartholme School explained:

“As we believe God is neither male or female, Stuartholme tries to use gender-neutral terms in prayers … so that our community deepens their understanding of who God is for them, how God reveals Godself through creation, our relationships with others and the person of Jesus.’

‘Godself’? Really. Feminist indoctrination is totally insensitive to the murdering of the English language and to two thousand years of tradition.

Other words to suffer feminist mutilation are ‘Lord’, ‘brothers’, and ‘his’ when referring to God. For example, God and His people becomes God and God’s people. I wonder what sort of course these schools run in English literature. How would a bright girl in English class reconcile the language of John Keats, Edmund Burke and Charles Dickens with this Orwellian nonsense.

The Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has declared against inclusive language in the liturgy and in other religious contexts. Not that cultural Marxists would give a damn about what the Vatican had to say. But there’s something more serious to consider for the parents paying fat fees to these schools.

Those parents should not imagine the prescription to use inclusive language is the only page from the Cultural Marxist agenda these schools are reading. You can count on female ordination, democratising the Church, female reproductive rights, homosexual marriage, and divorce being high on the schools’ conversion program. Who knows? The authorities may be ramming something like Victoria’s Safe Schools program down the students’ throats.

Of course, independent schools have a right to include these cultural topics in their curriculum. But they don’t have the right to call themselves Catholic if they do so. Otherwise, it’s fraud. The parents should know this.

Will the Catholic authorities in Brisbane act to investigate teaching that arrogantly contradicts Catholic teaching? Most likely not. They either agree with the agenda or haven’t the backbone to do anything about it. It’s a demonstration of the theme of Dr Taylor Marshall’s book.
