The hilarious quotations below were sent to me (yes, I know I'm using the passive voice*) by an editor...as one might guess

The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new campaign slogan last Sunday: 'I Upped My Pledge - Up Yours.

*In chapter eight of Edit Yourself, a book I have found immeasurably useful, the author recommends use of the active voice rather than the passive: 'The active voice is normally shorter, livelier, and more direct - and so is usually preferred.'
