Pictures of a criminal act - truck driver case 2
Who hasn't heard truck drivers warn people on television or radio when
interviewed that at 80 kph it takes 50 metres or more to stop one those
monstrous semi-trailers or road trains?
They say this when complaining about cars slipping in front of them on the
freeway. These stupid drivers don't know how dangerous their action is. Surely then, a driver who tailgates
intentionally with one of these
monster trucks is guilty of a criminal act.
Earlier this year a delivery van ran into the back of a car on the on-ramp
of Melbourne's ring road and killed two
children in the back seat. Imagine
what this truck (below) behind me on that same road
would have done to me and my car if I had had to stop urgently. I was
travelling at the speed
limit or a little above and because I was not going
fast enough, this is what this truck driver did - without hesitation.
This has happened many times to me on the ring road and the Monash
freeway. There would be few car drivers who haven't been terrorised in this
manner. Truck drivers who do this have no conscience. It's obvious why
there are so many fatalities involving trucks.
