10 August 2009Courageous QLD independent MP says homosexuality is not a normal part of lifeIndependent state MP Dorothy Pratt has outraged government feminists by saying what most people think but dare not say for fear of losing their job or even having their career wrecked. She spoke a PC blasphemy by saying homosexuality was not normal. Imagine that. The Courier Mail reported her saying the following: "I must say I was very pleased there was no allowance in this bill for homosexual couples to adopt a child," she said."I feel very strongly about that particular thought that . . . I'm not saying they aren't loving people, I'm not saying they wouldn't be fabulous parents, but I am saying that in my opinion a child deserves a mother and a father if possible and that whether you regard homosexual activity as a normal part of life or not, I don't."And as far as I'm concerned, nature intended that a male and a female came together to reproduce and bear a child, and influence it in all aspects of the male world and the female world and gives it a balanced view."Feminist Labor MP Kaye-Croft declared that she found the comments "highly offensive". No doubt she and her feminist Labor colleagues also found the presence of such homophobia in the House illegitimate, and will undertake measures to correct that. Bravo to Dorothy Pratt for having the guts to speak out. Comment: gerard@gerardcharleswilson.com |
