Has The Netherlands the privilege of laying the groundwork for the world's first HOMOCRACY?

In recent weeks, reports have come from various quarters that Slotervaart, an enlightened municipality southwest of Amsterdam, has set aside an area of parkland where homosexuals from all corners of Europe can let themselves loose with gay abandon.

That same enlightened council has cunningly thought ahead and realising a great number of unenlightened people - mostly ordinary families - will be vexatious enough to complain about these progressive measures, have set up signs warning of the gay activity ruffling and trampling the foliage in various parts of the park.

One can only congratulate Slotervaart's Aldermen and women for their foresight and attention to the sensitivity of others, forbearing their regrettable ignorance. But in this respect, too, much enlightened foresight (the pity being that it is often hidden from the public) is to be observed in similar programs throughout the country.

Teams of specially trained educators, determined that human rights will prevail regardless of the perversity of the ignorant, are visiting primary schools throughout the country teaching, explaining and handing out materials about the great joys of a gay lifestyle. Children should know that so many great men of history were gay, and some of Holland's leading public figures, at this very moment, are gayer than a Brabants carnival. Why look abroad when you have such figures to model yourself on?

That shrinking nation, if the enlightened people of Holland's councils have anything to do with it, can be confident of maintaining the reputation so long enjoyed throughout the world, of being the most progressive and enlightened of the world's people.
