Judica Me, Deus

Give judgment for me, O God

11 March 2009

It was a scene of sleaze, it was grotesque, freakish, nightmarish, an extension of the Rocky Horror Show - yes, it was the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

Now before the offended reader runs off to report me to the rigid ideologues who police the anti-vilification legislation, I wish to point out that none of the above should be a problem for any member of the gay and lesbian community. After all, it's what their apologists say about themselves and the way they present themselves at the high point of their political activity.

Below are a couple of pics (courtesy of The Sydney Morning Herald) from past parades to illustrate the point. For a powerful demonstration (you are warned) go to picture gallery of the last Sleaze Ball organised by the same group of hyperactive gays and lesbians: The Sleaze Ball (the link no longer operates. See the report on The Sleaze ball of 2009.

A spectator of the parade and the Sleaze Ball antics surely could not help getting the impression that gays and lesbians want us all piped by time-warping suspender-clad Frank N. Furter into a permanent Rocky Horror Show to the constant refrain of Janet's

Toucha, toucha, toucha, touch me, I wanna be dirty
Thrill me chill me fulfil me
Creature of the night.

(Full lyrics Toucha,Toucha,Toucha, Touch Me - Rocky Horror Show)

This is what Sydney has become. Who would have thought it fifty years ago?
