The Greens typically display their double standards

As the pre-eminent PC political party - and thus deeply anti-Catholic - the Greens react reflexively to any public comment by Cardinal Pell. There's obviously no limit to the measures they will take to silence the outspoken Cardinal. Ordinary Catholics don't have the opportunity or the means to broadcast their support for Cardinal Pell's actions, but Greens MP Lee Rhiannon should be assured that the Cardinal has their fervent support - not that the opinion of the faithful will be of any account for the anti-religious bigots that make up the Greens party.

To the contrary, Lee Rhiannon was so fired up by Cardinal Pell's raising questions about the standing of "Catholic" MPs if they acted contrary to the rules of the Catholic Church that she immediately rushed to the nearest body of rules that she thought she could politically manipulate. Unashamed and unabashed on the Greens' website she called on NSW Upper House Privileges Committee to adopt the Greens' political tactics to carry forward their objectives.

Greens MP Lee Rhiannon will ask the NSW Upper House Privileges Committee to determine if Cardinal Pell is in contempt of NSW Parliament for his comments about what will happen to Catholic MPs who support the cloning bill...Cardinal Pell's statement that there will be 'consequences' in MPs religious lives if they vote for the bill constitutes a threat to Catholic MPs. The fact that Cardinal Pell says a MP voting in support of the bill might 'loosen' their bonds with the church suggests his comments are an attempt to coerce support for his position on this issue.

Lee Rhiannon should be up for the year's award for political hypocrisy. The rigid intolerant Greens party would be the first to act - probably underhandedly - to eliminate any member who was found guilty of heresy and transgressing the rules of the party.
