The feral male - the scourge of liberal democracies
The major news bulletin on Dutch television last night headlined the
problems emergency and relief personnel are experiencing in their work.
Dealing with fires, accidents, riots and similar situations is demanding
enough. Often the call to a fire, accident, domestic trouble, street trouble
or sports riots means walking into an ambush and violence by bystanders, the
people needing help and those causing the trouble. And it is not restricted
to the locality of the violence. Nurses and doctors in emergency departments of hospitals are constantly
being assaulted, often seriously. Cop it in the locality and then cop it in
the hospital.
Then there is the serious psychological trauma that emergency and relief
people suffer from the violence and the horror of the violence. In the
overwhelming majority of these cases, the ambush and violence is at the
hands of males
between the ages of fourteen and twenty-five. These males have been outside
the normal education and restraints of civil society and have gone feral.
Why? Ideology and the control of a class of ideologues in Western society is
the answer.
Youth crime and violence have been a serious problem in Holland for
years. Twenty-five years ago I heard directly of the fear older people felt
in walking unprotected in the streets of a major Dutch provincial town.
There have been some shocking cases of gratuitous violence, one of the worst
being the bashing death of a young man because he told a teenager on a
motorbike to be careful in the parking area of a shopping centre. It would
be informative to know several years later what penalty the murderer had to
suffer.
The Dutch, for decades intoxicated by their liberal fantasies, have
remained inert in the face of the growing problem. Taking action would
surely go against the principles of tolerance Holland is so proud of - and
so famous for internationally. During the recent New Year's celebrations
there was an overflow of violence and property damage. A dozen schools were
burnt down and the firemen who came to put the fires out were attacked. The
feral male running wild.
The Prime Minister, Jan Balkenende, publicly called
those responsible 'sick'. It's an extraordinary admission by a public figure
in Holland. The question is whether the Dutch can stop drinking their brand
of intoxicating liberalism long enough to find an answer. That the solution
is in the hands of the class of ideologues who are responsible for
precipitating the degeneration of men and boys is the big problem. It's like
asking the arsonist to come up with a plan to douse the fire he has lit.
Last night on Australian television there was a report of a
twenty-year-old clocked at speeds above 250 kph while he outran the
pursuing police. 250+ kph? It's scarcely believable for many of us who think
100 kph is a dangerous speed and should only be allowed on major well
constructed freeways. The young man's solicitor said in his defence that he
had a mental age of fifteen - presumably to reduce his culpability. The
solicitor, as much as he should be embarrassed at offering this excuse to
the court, was sort of heading in the right direction.
The smartly dressed young man applied cunning, anticipation and unusual
driving skill in outrunning and evading a dozen police cars in pursuit. He
was caught in the end because he was cornered in a built up area. There's no
doubt about his mental capacity. The problem, as I have pointed out each
time I write about the feral male, is the young man's moral consciousness.
It is being generous to claim his moral consciousness was at the level of a
fifteen-year-old.
This is the central problem in most cases of male violence and
anti-social behaviour: none, low-level or a perverted moral consciousness.
This was exemplified in the recent case of the sixteen-year-old who issued
an open invitation to a party while his parents were away on holidays. Five
hundred drunken youth turned up, caused a riot, and attacked police when
they arrived to bring order to a street of terrified residents.
The boy wallowed in his notoriety, national and international - even
appearing on Dutch television. He swaggered in front of the media and acted
the goat, showing
no remorse and saying he was ready for the next party. His mates and others
from his peer group immediately set up websites on Face Book and My Place
lauding and defending him. No understanding of the moral issues. No
understanding of right and wrong. Right is simply doing what you feel like
and damn the rest of you. The peer reaction was reminiscent of the support
given by age contemporaries to the Werribee males guilty of one of the most cowardly
acts reported in recent years. People should note carefully that child
pornography was found in the sixteen-year-old's house among the party
debris.
The daily media is full of reports of young male violence and anti-social
behaviour, the victims being often the most vulnerable in our society. The
solution in Australia faces the same problem as it faces in Holland,
Germany, the UK, the US - in all liberal democracies. The ideologues of a
bankrupt ideology are in control of the means for solving the problem they precipitated.
The education of men and boys was dramatically different fifty years ago.
Men - the solution is in the hands of men - must take action to bring back
the principles of a manly education and to take the education of males out
of the hands of the unqualified and the unsuitable. Most importantly it must
be taken out of the hands of those believing maleness to be the origin of
all society's ills, indeed of all history's ills. These are the people
currently writing legislation and the state educational curriculum. |
