The year's most disgusting demonstrator's placard
Over the decades most of us have gotten used to the Left's no-holds-bar
sloganeering and put-downs. Whether screaming lies, insults and obscenities
to drown an opponent out in the usual thuggish way, or pushing placards
similarly scrawled in front of the television cameras, you would think
you've seen it all. But don't underestimate the ingenuity and nastiness of
the Left.
As is usual for the Left, in the Palestinian-Israel conflict they have gone
for the nasties: groups who would rank high on the list of the most
barbarous people of
modern times. They have taken the part of psychopathic cowards who
deliberately choose venues where defenceless women and children are
gathered. They choose venues for family celebrations. They deliberately
choose people in the most defenceless situation, and then they blow them
apart. The torn apart bodies of women, teenagers and children lie in the
blackened ruins while the perpetrators and the supporters dance in
jubilation in the streets.
On all the television news reports this morning of the demonstrations for
and against the awarding of a peace prize to Palestinian politician and
activist, Hanan Ashwari, viewers were confronted with a placard clearly
showing three symbols: The Star of David, =, the Nazi Swastika. That man who
held that placard should be congratulated in contriving one of the nastiest,
most offensive, obscene meanings one could place on a placard. Unlike the
Palestinians, European Jews were the subject of a genuine attempt to commit
genocide.
Australians should be under no illusion about this. That placard was
support for the same grouping of people who were responsible for the Bali
bombings. Whether it's Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaida, Jemaah Islamiah, or the myriad Arab or
Asian groups who cite Osama Bin Laden as their hero and inspiration, their
object is to eliminate anyone who resists and threatens their Islamic aims.
The holder of that placard would seem logically to be aligning himself with
Nazi-types rather than the Israelis who are forced to defend themselves
against publicly stated plans for their destruction. |
