By what right did Singapore's killer government snatch for the hangman
an Australian in transit?
It is a fact hardly broadcast in the media that Australian citizen Nguyen Tuong
Van was snatched by Singapore's police while changing planes at Singapore's
airport. What are we to conclude from this? It's simple really.
1. Melbourne man, Nguyen Tuon Van, had no intention of bringing his
relatively small amount of heroin (396 gms) into Singapore.
2. Thus not one single Singaporean citizen was threatened by one dot of
heroin from Nguyen Tuon Van's plastic bag.
Given that Singapore's government of cruelty makes laws only for Singapore
and not for any other of the surrounding countries, including Australia,
then how can these ministers of killing justify scooping up a passenger for
the noose on his way through their airport?
The answer is: they can't justify it in terms of their own legislation and
their constantly proclaimed intentions of keeping Singapore clean of drugs -
at least not according to the normal rules of reason.
Being acquainted with what passes for reasoning in that select group, one
may be inclined to think they want to ensure their grotesquely obese hangman
keeps busy, thus providing an ongoing spectacle for their gratification.
Perhaps the blood-lusting ministers of Singapore's government think they are
doing Australia and Australians a good turn by protecting us from '26,000
street doses of heroin' - a number cited unchallenged by Singapore's Foreign
Minister, clearly as a defence for their hanging mania.
Again, according to the line of defence they constantly run (Singapore has
rules regarding drug possession and no one has a right to mess with them and
Singapore's sovereignty) this is no defence at all. Indeed they contradict
their own policy by openly interfering in Australia's similar right of
deciding the parameters of its legislation and policies for handling
incidences of drug possession. There is thus a message for Singapore's
cabinet:
DON'T OPERATE A DOUBLE STANDARD. RESPECT AUSTRALIA'S LAWS AND ATTITUDE TO
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. AUSTRALIA WILL DECIDE WHAT THE PUNISHMENT WILL BE
FOR DRUG POSSESSION. RELEASE NGUYEN TUONG VAN WHOM YOU HAVE SEIZED
WITHOUT GOOD REASON. |
