Singapore's serial killer arrives in Australia today
He won't be in handcuffs. He won't be escorted by burly policemen. He
won't be exposed to the revulsion and contempt of Australians for his
heartless cold-blooded killing. He will be transported first class, clothed
in the best money can buy, housed in the best motels, treated to the
pleasures he desires, and exposed to the sycophantic pandering of those whose
minds are similarly formed. He is the Prime Minister of
Singapore. Whichever way you want to look at it, killing ordinary people
on the basis on an unjust law is murder - the sort of murder that had
Milosovic committed to a cell in the Hague. The Australian
government should honour all present contracts with Singapore, but many
supporters of John Howard and his government want nothing further to do with
this man and his brutal companions. |
