Ruud Lubbers: a hissy fit and another notch in the feminist belt

Ruud Lubbers, former prime minister of The Netherlands, has been forced to step down from his position as UN High Commissioner for Refugees, one of the UN's plum jobs. Why? For embezzlement? For corruption? For Fraud...? No? Then what serious crime did the former highly regarded Dutch Prime Minister commit? It must have been bad.

Come on, he was guilty of sexual harassment, sexual intimidation. He sexually intimidated a poor defenceless American career women of fifty-one years. What could be worse?

What did he do? Clutch and grope her? Flashed himself? Undressed and sat on the lounge with an expression that was all invitation - like Bill Clinton..?

No, nothing like that. But just as bad. He pinched her bottom, she said. Ruud said that he placed his hand on her back to guide through the door.

That's bad.

Ruud got all he deserved. Destruction. And let that be a lesson to all men.

Now it is incumbent upon the UN to provide counselling and medical support for those women traumatised by the sexually oppressive behaviour of men like Ruud Lubbers.
