5 June 2009The ABC Chaser team simply reflects the mentality of its classThe outrage and distress expressed by the general community at an ABC comedy skit making fun at the expense of dying children was obviously not felt by the people at the ABC before the skit was broadcast. Otherwise (logically) it would not have gone to air. It is just this that most ordinary people should reflect on. I mean, ordinary people should consider the skit as a reflection of the mentality that permeates that taxpayer-funded institution. Mark Scott, the managing director of the ABC, was on the air this morning apologising abjectly for the pain and distress the skit had caused in the community. Pain and distress? What about considering such programs as morally wrong - objectively wrong? No, not on your Nelly. The crew at the ABC have been spoon-fed that whole 'intellectual' porridge of deconstructionism, postmodernism, dadaism, feminism, queerism, and we-can-know-nothingism until it has made pulp of their brains. There is no moral value in making fun of dying children. All action is morally neutral. The only consideration is whether a skit making fun of dying children will impinge negatively on ABC operations and produce pleasure or pain in their staff. Comment: gerard@gerardcharleswilson.com |
