Judica Me, Deus

Give judgment for me, O God

It's time again for The Australian's Bill Leak to work over Australia's only state approved bigotry

There's no doubt about it: cartoonist Bill Leak is nudging Phillip Adams' crown as Australia's foremost professional PC bigot and hypocrite. Below is his latest offering for his army of mindless fans. Such mockery is a joy to his followers; to the faithful Catholic it's lampooning the most sacred part of Catholic liturgy and the central belief of Christianity. Once again, Leak shows there are no boundaries when it comes to people and groups that fall outside his narrow ideological compass. If the target were anyone else, it would be considered a hate crime.

Leak must have made the morally prevaricating Editor of The Australian, Michael Stutchbury, a little uncomfortable for he approved the following protest letters for publication (12 December).

I wish to protest in the strongest possible terms on yet another caricature of the central rite of the Catholic faith, in Bill Leak's cartoon (11/12).
Why is it that you are so careful about offending other faiths, but take delight in blaspheming Catholicism?
Fr John Hill, Woy Woy, NSW

Dear Father, The answer is straightforward. Catholicism, as essentially antithetical to the dogma of political correctness, is the enemy of all instruments that function as purveyors of political correctness. That's why Stutchy ropes in mindless uncomplicated PC bigots like Bill Leak. Like his flagship PC bigot, Phillip Adams, he knows that mockery is much more effective than reasoned argument for the PC class. Editor.

The cartoon, 'The Next Supper', is in appallingly bad taste.
Insulting Christians reflects badly on your newspaper, of allegedly high quality. God bless you, and don't do it again.
Tom Donellan, Cessnock West, NSW

Dear Mr Donellan, A quality newspaper? Stutchy likes to think he's running a quality newspaper. By the way, how closely would you think Stutchy's private life bears scrutiny? Editor.
