1 May 2009Is Paul Keating a homosexual? Revisiting the questionBack in April 2004 I posted a comment under the heading, "Is Paul Keating a homosexual?" I had just returned from a Sydney visit where friends had insisted, to my bemusement, that former Prime Minister Paul Keating's marriage broke up because he was, and is, a homosexual, and lives a homosexual lifestyle. At that time, as I said, it was the first I had heard of it and had no idea whether or not they were right. Over the following months, to my growing surprise, I got the biggest response to anything I have posted. Naturally the century's most powerful bigot word "homophobia" was thrown at me by people essentially fascist in outlook. There were also readers who were intrigued by the claim, some of whom felt there had to be something in it. Out of the responses there were two that seemed to have compelling evidence that Keating does lead a homosexual lifestyle. The first from a reliable source connected with government that claimed Keating enjoyed certain "adventures" on his overseas trips. The second, far more compelling, came from someone working with a person who was "part of the Sydney gay scene." (I followed that first comment with two others 2 3.) Let me make it clear once again that I couldn't care less what handstands and somersaults Keating performs with others in the privacy of his own rooms. What concerns me is the monumental hypocrisy if it is true. There would be no greater supporter of the homofascist tick that has embedded itself into Australia's poisoned political and social body. Such abject hypocrisy would indeed be consistent with the behaviour of this vile abusive man, a prime minister who was thrown out of office because of the deep disgust he had engendered in a majority of Australia's population. In fact, Keating seems driven by homosexual spite, which may be the most convincing indication. I should add that being thrown out of office has not stilled his poisonous tongue. It is a blight on Australia's history and an indication of the sick state of modern society that a guttersnipe like Keating could be elected Prime Minister and continues to be lionised by many in the media. Indeed, some of the dopey feminists who fill the op-ed pages of Melbourne's Age are among his most uncritical subjects. Most websites have a function that maintains basic statistics of the number of visitors to the site, how they came to the site, and what folders and pages were visited. Every month since April 2004 my website has registered one or more searches for comments on the subject of Keating's possible homosexuality. Some person or group is doing a continual search on the subject. I am posting this comment because of the sudden surge in interest in the comments I have made about Keating. I am curious to know from people who are suddenly coming to this site through a comment on Keating why they are doing so. Comment: gerard@gerardcharleswilson.com |
