The Da Vinci Code - The book of the year at the British Book
Awards
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a poorly written mediocre
thriller with paper-thin characters. It also represents an atomic explosion
of anti-Catholic bigotry - which appears to be the book's major purpose.
Fifty years ago, no self-respecting writer would have put such vile
transparent bigotry onto the market. The historical ignorance and the
distortion of what facts do appear in the book would have made the writer a
laughing stock. The sales success of Brown's book is yet another
demonstration of just how far Western Civilsation has sunk.
Now we have Hollywood rushing to put this poison to film. Do Ron Howard
(director) and Tom Hanks (Langdon, no doubt) really think they are doing
themselves a service by lining up behind the campaign against Western
Civilization. Hanks played the major role in the film Saving Private Ryan.
He should be reminded that the setting for that story was a World War caused
by the Nazis' campaign of historical distortion and hatred of those
deviating from that distortion. |
