The electronic book has
arrived
Amazon.com recently announced that sales for ebooks were for the first time
slightly ahead of hard copy book sales. They were also anticipating demand
for 'millions' of Kindle readers over Christmas. Although the traditional
book will never leave us, more and more readers are beginning to see the
advantages of the ebook, especially the cost, and the ease with which it can
be read and transported.
Many of the current ebook formats can be downloaded on
one's computer. This is the case with Amazon.com's Kindle format. Ideally a
Kindle ebook reader is used for reading Kindle ebooks, but Kindle ebooks can
also be downloaded from the Amazon website onto most computer devices -
desktop, laptop, notebooks etc. One can read a sample (10%) of the book
before buying. That can range from a chapter to several chapters of the book,
depending on the size of the book.
I recommend the reader investigate how it's done by
going from the links on my books page.
Happy holiday reading
Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year
