Give judgment for me, O God |

19 May 2010The Australian Labor Party calls the Opposition Leader Tony Abbott a liar for being honest and telling the truthIt might have been different for my father, a WWII veteran, who was a member of the Australian Labor Party before the Dr Evatt era, but from the first moments of my political consciousness in the early 1960s I have always thought of the Labor Party as essentially a political incorporation of professional liars. I have always referred to the Left as the lying left, people who are feverishly committed to selling the population a counterfeit dream, a dream that at its worst has been a murderous nightmare for millions. I have sometimes earned the tag of 'extreme right-wing' for such views (when, of course, I am conservative, and nothing like right-wing). The reaction of the Labor Party and their leftist media mates to Tony Abbott's bout of honesty on the ABC's 7.30 Report has been yet another confirmation of my original judgment, which actually was never necessary. I expect a skunk to be a skunk. The nature of a skunk is to stink. I have read and reread Tony Abbott's answers to Kerry O'Brien's questioning a dozen times. I do not budge from the assessment of those answers that I gave in the previous comment. Tony Abbott said that in the heat of the moment one sometimes goes too far, further than one would in sober moments or when policy views were scripted. The example is his saying in a country meeting that climate change is 'all crap', an expression in tune with the circumstances. He said that this tendency is a fact of human nature. Nobody would deny this, as most commentators acknowledge. Second, he said that sometimes circumstances warrant the change or the reversal of policy decisions. It is regrettable, but that is a fact of political life. I gave an example of Treasurer Wayne Swann breezily admitting the change or reversal of policy, demonstrating that hypocrisy is linked with Labor's compulsion to lie. At no time did Tony Abbott say that he has a habit of consciously saying things that he knew to be untrue. This is the way the Labor Party and just about every media organisation are misrepresenting him saying. The Labor Government rushed out a political advertisement depicting Abbott as a liar on his own admission. They knew the leftist media would run it gratis and endlessly and that the hate-filled constituency of the Fairfax media would begin their poisonous rant against Abbott all over again. This Australian Labor Party advertisement is the most disgusting, the most dishonest, the most deceptive, and the most manipulative that I have witnessed in my life time. The ordinary person should dwell on the fact that the party's leaders, heavyweights like Gillard, Swann, Tanner and Albanese, are right out there in the frontline furiously peddling their disgusting lies. There is something radically wrong with a society that has one of its two major political parties, its elitist class, and the majority of its media ready to blindly employ any means to advance its class interests. For make no mistake, we are dealing here with an oppressive class that has the means to exercise its oppression with little resistance. The truth is that Tony Abbott appears to be the only politician at the moment with the honesty, the insight into Australia's moral and social woes, and the courage to confront and put obstacles in the way of the dominant class. I refer the reader to my last comment on the Australian Labor Party and the warning I gave about the way they would deal with Tony Abbott. Comment: gerard@gerardcharleswilson.com |
